Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Patio Officially Unveiled in Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
The 1,800-square-foot space outside the lower level of Albert's Den has been transformed into an inviting relaxation and quiet study spot for Einstein students, thanks to generous support from Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz.
Yoon Kang, M.D., vice dean for education and the Ruth L. Gottesman Chair in Education, and Yaron Tomer, M.D., the Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Dean and chief academic officer at Montefiore Einstein officially open the Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Patio.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony held on May 29, 2025, marked the official opening. “This beautiful space represents a significant step forward in our continued efforts to enhance the student experience at Einstein,” said Yaron Tomer, M.D., the Marilyn and Stanley M. Katz Dean and chief academic officer at Montefiore Einstein. “We will continue to listen to our students, and this will not be the last improvement we make.”

“The design process involved collaboration with landscapers and architects to ensure the patio meets students' needs for privacy, light, and comfort,” said Joe Ben-Ari, director of design and construction at Einstein. “The thoughtfully constructed screen wall will enhance seclusion, making it a perfect escape for relaxation or focused study.”
