Appreciation Day Brings Together Einstein Community
In August, human resources hosted Einstein Appreciation Day, a BBQ typically held during summer celebrating the contributions of all members of the Einstein community.
Festivities kicked off at noon of a sunny, summer day, with a buffet-style barbecue that featured 45 volunteers from administration and the dean’s office serving up the fare. They dished out 3,000 hotdogs, 2,500 hamburgers and 300 pounds of chicken cutlet, along with 60 watermelons, bowls-full of pasta salad, cole slaw and potato salad, and countless cookies.
The feast was backed by the rhythmic beats spun by deejay John Schmidt, while emcee Marie “Cookie” Kurtz, motivated the crowd to get up and dance the “Electric Slide” and “Cupid Shuffle.” Ms.Kurtz also announced the winners of this year’s raffles. Prizes included NY Rangers tickets, gift baskets and gift cards—each of which was donated by various departments or members of Einstein leadership.
