Faculty Poster Sessions Illustrate Breadth of Research at Einstein
The office of the graduate division of biomedical sciences hosted its annual Faculty Research Poster Sessions on September 8 and 9.
The posters sessions encouraged discussions of the various research projects underway at EinsteinHeld in Lubin Dining Hall, the two-day event offered first-year Ph.D. and M.D./Ph.D. students the opportunity to learn about the research conducted at the College of Medicine, presented by faculty and members of their laboratory teams, as well as by the staff that run the shared facilities and cores.
The aim of the event is to help new students determine areas of research for their three laboratory rotations, which ultimately help them decide the laboratory where they will conduct their thesis research. The poster sessions also provide new students the opportunity to interact and network with senior graduate students and postdocs.
This year, faculty representing 12 academic departments took part in the event, showcasing approximately 130 research posters. “The poster sessions offer a marvelous opportunity for everyone to appreciate the breadth of science at Einstein and see the latest accomplishments from a wide variety of laboratories,” said Dr. Victoria Freedman, associate dean for graduate studies in the biomedical sciences.
