He also is director of the catheterization laboratory at Montefiore White Plains Hospital.
Following medical school, at the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine, Dr. Greenberg arrived at Montefiore, where he completed fellowships in internal medicine and cardiology. He then joined the faculty full-time and has been recognized for his clinical and teaching ability within the field of cardiology—with honors including Montefiore's Outstanding House Officer Award, teaching awards in medicine and in cardiology, the Moses Research Award, and the Staff and Alumni Award.
He also has been consistently listed in New York magazine's "Best Doctors" issue for many years running. His dedication to the Jewish community is reflected in his role as a member of UJA-Federation's Montefiore-Einstein Committee. In 1980, he traveled to Israel with Einstein colleagues to help establish the Ben Gurion Medical School for International Health, where he has served as a visiting professor.
During the event, a special presentation also was made to Donald Ashkenase, immediate past chair of UJA-Federation’s Montefiore-Einstein Campaign. Guests also heard from Hindy Poupko, deputy chief planning officer at UJA-Federation, about countering the BDS movement and anti-Israel sentiment on college campuses.
