Food for Thought
Need Patricia’s or Ann Clair’s to cater an event you’re hosting on campus? Craving pizzas from Patsy’s Pizzeria of Tremont or Captain’s for a club meeting this Friday night? Or do you just want a quick and easy way to order lunch from La Masa or Boston Market? Then try using America to Go, an online marketplace available through procurement service’s e-Pro e-commerce tool, which connects Einstein staff, faculty and students to local restaurants and caterers.
Whether ordering food for a group or for just yourself, America to Go provides a listing of local restaurants and catering services who have accounts with Einstein.
While similar to popular food ordering services Seamless or GrubHub, America to Go has been customized for the Einstein community to make it easy to order local food and keep track of what you’ve spent. You can place orders through your department or center, or you can use your own personal credit card.
“With America to Go, the Einstein community is now connected to a growing network of popular local restaurants and catering services,” said Jack Zencheck, Einstein’s associate vice president of business services.
Through America to Go, anyone at Einstein can easily order breakfast, lunch, or dinner from a local favorite or begin to plan a more complex party or event on campus.
“We started working with America to Go in February and the list of local vendors has grown since then,” noted Daniel Zambo, purchasing manager at Einstein. “Their listings include Montefiore’s food services, through our e-Pro Marketplace, to accommodate your on campus kosher food needs.”
For faculty or staff ordering food for a meeting or event, America to Go makes it easier to track budget spending and will cut down on unnecessary paperwork. The online service also makes it easy for your department to try out new vendors, and soon there will be planned taste tests so you can “try before you buy.”
Don’t see your favorite local restaurant listed in America to Go? Next time you’re at the restaurant, let them know they should join—or reach out to Daniel Zambo (daniel.zambo@einstein.yu.edu), or Vivian Bordon, Einstein’s America to Go project manager vivian.bordon@americatogo.com.
