Showcasing Ophthalmology Research
Earlier this summer, ophthalmology and visual sciences held its annual Paul Henkind Research Day at Einstein’s LeFrak Auditorium in the Price Center/Block Research Pavilion. Physicians and residents presented current research and clinical advances in common ophthalmic conditions. The George N. Wise Memorial Lecture featured Dr. Mark Humayun, visiting faculty from the Keck School of Medicine-University of Southern California, who discussed advanced bio-implants for ophthalmology. In addition, Dr. Jimmy Hu, a Montefiore ophthalmology resident, received this year’s Ronald M. Burde Research Award, for excellence in resident research.
