A Day of Science
On June 16, 2017, pharmaceutical company Regeneron hosted a Science to Medicine forum for graduate students and postdocs from the greater New York metropolitan area at their research facility in Tarrytown, NY. Young investigators from Einstein and other local institutions attended scientific lectures, toured the research facilities, and presented their own research. Highlighting the day’s event, keynote speaker Dr. Richard Flavell presented his landmark findings stemming from collaboration with Regeneron scientists. He described their development of specially designed mouse models for use in immune-oncology research. Regeneron’s scientific founder Dr. George Yancopoulos also addressed the group, emphasizing his belief that scientific research drives clinical discovery.
