Commemorating Our Nation's Birth
The offices of general counsel and of grant support will offer two screenings of “A More Perfect Union: America Becomes a Nation”—on Monday, September 17, 2018, and on Thursday, October 4, 2018, each starting at 4 p.m. in the lower level of the Education Center.
“The film helps to fulfill an educational requirement that institutions like Einstein, which receive federal funding, must provide to mark the anniversary of the United States Constitution,” explained Dr. Dhanonjoy Saha, director of grant support. “We also plan to give the first 100 audience members at each screening a free copy of the Constitution.”
The U.S. Constitution became the law of our nation on September 17, 1787
“Last year, we offered a lecture and panel discussion on the first amendment, so this year we thought we would do something a little bit different,” said Dana Lee, senior counsel at Einstein. “We plan to have popcorn and other movie fare during the film, and there will be a reception afterwards.”
Get an inside look at how our Constitution first came to be!The event also features the announcement of Constitution Trivia winners, who are the first to correctly answer each day’s trivia question during promotion of the event. To compete, members of the Einstein community simply submit their answer to each day’s trivia question (see below). Trivia questions also will appear on campus monitors and the intranet e-screens.
Answers should be sent to shonna.farrell@einstein.yu.edu. Please note your name, department, and phone number with your answer and “Constitution Trivia – DAY OF WEEK” under “Subject.”
