A Promotion Recognizes Excellence
In September, Brian Pelowski was named assistant dean for scientific operations. In this role, Brian manages Einstein’s shared facilities and cores, working with Dr. Harris Goldstein, associate dean for scientific resources. These resources are essential to the research enterprise and designed to advance the research efforts of Einstein investigators.

“Brian’s promotion and added responsibilities are a testament to the outstanding job he has done over the past five-and-a-half years of coordinating the myriad financial and logistical issues involved in managing the dozens of Einstein shared facilities and cores,” said Dr. Harris Goldstein, associate dean for scientific resources. “Brian is dedicated to providing Einstein investigators with the scientific infrastructure and research tools they need to translate their ideas into scientific breakthroughs that allow for development of new disease treatments.”
Among his new responsibilities, Brian will coordinate space planning with the dean, executive dean and senior managers while also working closely with faculty to ensure that space is used optimally and that laboratory and other space-related requirements of new faculty recruits are fully addressed by the time they arrive at Einstein. He also aids biotech incubator companies in leasing lab and office space on Einstein’s Jack and Pearl Resnick campus.
Brian received his bachelor’s degree from Minnesota State University and his master’s in business administration from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Before joining Einstein, Brian was director of operations of the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine program at Drexel. He had previously managed the computer science internship program at the City University of New York.
