Faculty Interactions Committee Launches New Seminar Series
On Thursday, January 31, 2019, the Faculty Interactions Committee (FIComm) of the Einstein-Montefiore Senate will introduce a new seminar series, called “Pathways to Success at the Einstein Cores." The bimonthly offerings are aimed at highlighting the activities and resources available to Einstein and Montefiore researchers through Einstein’s various shared and core facilities.
The inaugural seminar in this series will focus on the Flow Cytometry Core. It will take place at noon, in the third-floor lecture hall in Forchheimer. All are encouraged to attend. Future seminars are in the works for March 28 and June 6, so be sure to check the online calendar and other campus communications vehicles (posters, intranet, campus monitors) for further details.
FIComm is a committee of the faculty senate, charged to enhance and provide opportunities for faculty across all disciplines and specialties in the basic, social, or clinical sciences to interact, engage, and collaborate in keeping with the core philosophy of our institution: Science at the Heart of Medicine." The committee also hosts its monthly “Seeds for Collaboration” series, in which three faculty members give a five-minute overview of their work in a social setting, and mingle afterwards to discuss their projects and the potential for collaborations. And it sponsors the annual Einstein-Montefiore Presidential Lecture, to be held this year on Monday June 3, in which an outstanding basic scientist and clinical investigator each present their work, exemplifying the spirit of the Einstein-Montefiore partnership.
