Dr. Margaret Kielian to Deliver Horwitz Prize Lecture
On Monday, March 11, 2019, at 4 p.m., Dr. Margaret Kielian will deliver the 2019 Marshall S. Horwitz M.D. Prize Lecture in Robbins Auditorium. As this year's recipient of the Marshall S. Horwitz, M.D. Faculty Prize for Research Excellence, Dr. Keilian will deliver “How Viruses Infect a Cell: Structure, Function, and Inhibition of Virus Membrane Fusion Proteins,” detailing her work studying enveloped viruses—viruses surrounded by lipid membranes containing viral proteins The award presentation and a reception will follow.
The Horwitz Prize was established 13 years ago to honor the memory of Marshall Horwitz, a beloved member of the Einstein faculty who passed away in 2005. Each year, a member of our faculty is selected to receive this prize that reflects the faculty research excellence that Dr. Horwitz exemplified.
