Celebrating 50 Years of Opioid Research and Treatment
On Tuesday, September 24, Einstein and Montefiore are hosting On the Front Lines of the Opioid Epidemic, a free, all-day symposium exploring the impact of the opioid epidemic on communities, the neuroscience of addiction, and the future of evidence-based innovations in opioid use disorder treatment.
The symposium—which is a collaborative effort of the departments of psychiatry and behavioral sciences, medicine and neuroscience—also celebrates 50 years of innovation and leadership in opioid treatment and research at Einstein and Montefiore, and comes at a time when stories concerning the current epidemic are prominently in the news.
The event includes sessions in the morning (8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.), in Einstein’s Robbins Auditorium, and in the afternoon (1 to 5 p.m.) at 1510 Waters Place, which is home to Montefiore’s Division of Substance Abuse (DoSA), the nation’s largest academically affiliated opioid treatment program.
Those interested in attending must register. For further details, view the agenda.
