October Is National Medical Library Month!
This month, the staff of Einstein’s D. Samuel Gottesman Library have gone all out to mark National Medical Library Month. (Around the country, it’s called National Medical Librarians Month; the Einstein library staff customized the name to include the entire staff.)

The month serves to raise awareness of the important role that health information professionals play in medical and research institutions. The Einstein library, located in the heart of the campus on the first floor of the Forchheimer building, is celebrating with enticing activities and festivities. These include:
Weekly Raffle: Answer a trivia question about the library and be entered to win an Amazon or Starbucks gift card.
Get Carded: Need a New York Public Library card? Signing up for an NYPL card is easy—and gets you access to 8 million books and DVDs, 300,000 eBooks, online magazines, and more. (You’re eligible whether you live or work in any of the five boroughs!) Opportunities to register will be offered on Thursday, October 24—from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Forchheimer lobby, or from 2 to 4 p.m. in the library.

Amnesty Week: From Monday, October 28 to Friday, November 1, you can return overdue books without a fine. (This amnesty does not apply to reserve items, laptops, iPads, or fines accrued for items previously returned.)
Trick or Treat: On Thursday, October 31, the Circulation Desk staff will be ready with treats for you. Show up in costume to get a bonus spooky 3D-printed decoration!
