Safety First: Complete Einstein’s Active Shooter Online Training
An active shooter scenario can happen anywhere at any time. If one occurs on our campus, being aware of your surroundings, having an escape plan, and knowing how to protect yourself and others can potentially save lives.
To keep the members of our Einstein community safe, all employees and students must complete an Active Shooter online training. This training is offered through SafeColleges, our online campus safety and compliance platform.
“SafeColleges will direct you to review our Active Shooter Policy and complete our online training,” noted Neil Kaplan, chief of security, in an e-blast to the Einstein community on August 11; a reminder email from SafeColleges was sent on Thursday, August 27. Completion of this training is mandatory and must be completed by Tuesday, September 15.
To take the training, you will first need to log into the SafeColleges platform. There are separate logins for employees and students. (Just click on the applicable link and follow the instructions on the screen to get started. For the best experience, it is recommended you use Google Chrome while taking the training.)
Once logged in, you will see the Active Shooter Policy and training listed as an assigned course under “Mandatory Training” on your homepage. You can begin the course simply by clicking on it. The training uses audio so make sure you have your headphones plugged in or your speakers turned up. By completing all the training scenarios and final assessment, you will receive a completion credit for the course and the option to print out a copy of your certification of completion.
“We appreciate your cooperation in reviewing our policy and completing this important training,” said Neil. “Making sure everyone is safe and prepared for any emergency situation that might occur on campus is our top priority.”
