Explore the Benefits Afforded by Fidelity’s NetBenefits!
Fidelity’s NetBenefits website offers convenient access to your Einstein retirement plans when you establish an account at https://nb.fidelity.com/public/nb/default/home or through www.403b.com. Creating an account is easy and offers you a wealth of information, resources, and tools that can help you manage your financial resources.
Already have an account and need to update your Einstein email address or other personal information?
Simply log into NetBenefits and click on Profile at the top of the page. Within the Profile section, select Personal & Contact Information. If you’ve already provided an Einstein email address in your account, simply make sure it’s has the @einsteinmed.org suffix, and indicate whether you wish it to be primary or not. While making the update to your Einstein email address you can also provide an additional email address and select which address you prefer to be primary. And you can update any other information you may wish to change. (Perhaps you’ve moved recently or gotten married?) The site offers easy access to making sure all your information is current.
But I don’t have an account!
If you don’t yet have an account, no worries! Creating one is easy. To do so, simply go to one of the links noted above and click on “Register as a New User” at the top of the page. Once your account has been created get ready to explore! The profile tab at the top of the page allows you to manage your contact information, account settings, beneficiaries, and more. This is where you would enter your personal & contact information including any email addresses or phone numbers.
Why should I provide personal and contact information?
Fidelity will use your primary email address to send you important communications about your benefits that can include service-related communications, legally required disclosures, education materials, or new service offerings. When contacting you, Fidelity will reach out to your primary address first and, if they can’t reach you there, they will try to reach you at any other email address that you have provided. Your phone number may be used to contact you about security authentication or concerning suspicious or fraudulent activity observed on your account.
In coming months, Einstein will begin providing employees’ Einstein email addresses to Fidelity, which will only be used to send specific notices that have been approved by Einstein beforehand. While we haven’t previously done this, we want to ensure that no employee misses out on receiving important communications from Fidelity about their Einstein retirement plans.
What else does the site offer?
Having a NetBenefits account offers more than access to messages. It also provides you a wealth of information, resources, and tools that can help you manage your financial resources. Among the actions you’ll be able to take are:
- Designating (and updating) beneficiaries for your Einstein retirement plans
It’s critical that you have valid beneficiary designations for your Einstein retirement plan accounts. If your situation has changed (marriage, birth of a child, divorce, or remarriage), you should review your current beneficiaries and make any updates to ensure that your assets are distributed according to your wishes. Click on the Menu button on the top left of the page and select Beneficiaries.
- Changing the distribution method for your quarterly account statements
The default distribution method is by email. However, if you prefer to receive your account statements by mail, you can change the default distribution method to your home address and statements will be mailed to you. To make a change, go to Profile, and select Communication. You’ll then be able to change your preferences for receiving information from Fidelity.
- Enrolling, reviewing, and/ or changing your payroll deductions for your contributions to the retirement plans
It’s advisable to contribute as much as you can for as long as you can. And while most employees are subject to automatic enrollment and automatic escalation, many aren’t. To review your elections, click on Quick Links, then select Contribution Amount.
- Taking advantage of educational resources, guidance, and planning services
NetBenefits offers a variety of on-line workshops and webinars that can help you make the most of your savings and retirement planning. You can also access an online planning and guidance center to make sure you’re on target to meet your retirement goals. Be sure to check them out!
