Celebrating Einstein Employees
On Friday, March 5, 2021, human resources marked National Employee Appreciation Day by inviting members of the Einstein community to enjoy ice cream treats at the Einstein Café. A raffle also was offered to all employees—one for those on campus and another for those working remotely—with each winner receiving Einstein swag.
In her note to the Einstein community about the event, Yvonne Ramirez, vice president of human resources and Title IX coordinator, noted, “As we approach the one-year anniversary of COVID-19 altering our workplace and work lives, I want to share my gratitude for all of you. Despite many unknowns, concerns about health and safety, adjusting to new work situations, and much more, you have all given your all to keep Einstein thriving.”
Working in concert with food services, Yvonne and her team provided ice cream treats to 305 members of the Einstein community. Another 45 entered the raffle drawing, submitting their “ticket” by emailing Yvonne and noting “Working Remotely” or “Working at Einstein” in the subject line.
The raffle winners were Linda Lally, grants and contract analyst in research finance, and Luz Leone, expenditure assistant in pediatrics. All other raffle participants are winners, too, as they will receive a voucher that they can present at the Einstein Café to receive an ice cream.
“The voucher is good for whenever one is on campus, so eventually those working remotely who entered the raffle will be able to retrieve their prize,” said Yvonne.
The event is one of several planned throughout the spring and summer. Each month, a select Friday will be designated as an Einstein Appreciation Day. “Each event will offer a different treat or fun activity, so stay tuned,” said Yvonne.
Mark your calendar now—April 9, May 14, June 18, and July 9—to be sure you don’t miss the fun!
