Bright Horizons Back-up Care Support Program Offers Useful Assistance and Resources
As members of our campus community have made plans for returning to campus, a continuing challenge for some, exasperated by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, is finding care services for family members who may rely on them, be they children, adults, or elders. To help eligible students and employees in addressing such care concerns, Einstein has engaged Bright Horizons to provide back-up care support services for children, adults and elders.
Beginning August 15, 2021, eligible members of the Einstein community will be able to avail themselves of these services, which aim to help our students and employees with better managing their many work, school, family, and personal responsibilities. The benefits of the new care support program include Back-up Care for Children, Adults, and Elders and Enhanced Family Support Services. You can view further details using the links provided, which take you to the human resources intranet page. “Our goal is to make sure that our employees and students have the necessary resources and services whenever the need for care support— expected or unexpected—may arise,” said Yvonne Ramirez, vice president of human resources.
Recognizing that enlisting back-up care services can be a budget-busting expenditure, Einstein is subsidizing a significant portion of the cost for using the offered services. Community members that take advantage of the available services will need to make a modest copayment for back-up care, but it will be affordable—ranging from $6 an hour for in-home care, to between $15 and $25 per day for child or family care at a Bright Horizons-affiliated center.
“We’ve also arranged for access to Bright Horizons’ enhanced family support services, for which we’ll be covering the $150 annual fee and which expands the array of services and resources available for our eligible community members to access,” said Yvonne.
She added, “Prioritizing family care support is critical to helping employees with such responsibilities in returning to work while also being able to juggle other demands on their time and attention. Because we want to retain talent, it’s important that we assist members of our workforce—and students, too— with balancing their family and work or study obligations.”
“Being able to provide the care that loved ones need is essential to peace of mind and striking a sound work/life balance,” said Yvonne. “Ultimately, we hope our community members will make use of these invaluable resources should they and their family need them. Be sure to watch for an email from Bright Horizons, which will be sent to eligible members of the Einstein community in coming weeks.”
