Spirited Event Supports Einstein’s ECHO Free Clinic
The colorful and cheerful “5K Einstein Spirit Walk-Run Race” to benefit the ECHO Free Clinic drew 85 walkers, runners, and racers on Sunday morning, October 24. The event began and ended at the housing courtyard and, as they approached the finish line, spectators showered participants with cups of colored powder made of food-grade cornstarch.
ECHO is a student-run free clinic that provides free health care to uninsured Bronx adults in collaboration with the Institute for Family Health. Its operations are supported by donations.
The event, which raised approximately $1,200, was sponsored by Einstein’s office of student activities, its WellMed program, its chapter of APAMSA, the ECHO Clinic, the Student Governing Board, and the Cardiology Interest Group at Einstein.
