Offering Help to Ukraine
In the early morning hours of February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. Since then, its capital, Kyiv, and several other major cities have been under attack, with several hundred Ukrainians killed and more than 1,000 people—many civilians—wounded. Medical providers desperately need supplies for wound care, surgical supplies, and biomedical equipment.
As we have with previous catastrophic events, Montefiore and Einstein remain committed to helping the global community fight the COVID-19 pandemic and other urgent health crises. At this time, we are launching the "Global Response Fund: Relief for Ukraine" to support this critical effort.
“Montefiore and Einstein have again partnered with the Afya Foundation, a humanitarian organization delivering medical supplies to global communities devastated by war, natural disasters, or the COVID pandemic,” noted Priya Nori, M.D., associate professor of medicine and of orthopaedic surgery at Einstein and medical director of Montefiore’s Antibiotic Stewardship Program. “As the crisis continues in Ukraine, we are teaming up to support the medical community and citizens of Ukraine.”
Montefiore and Einstein are coordinating a large donation of medical supplies from Montefiore warehouses to assist in Afya's humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. A donation to our Global Response Fund will support these goals and efforts. Receipts for donations are mailed within two business days to the donor.

Impact of Our Global Response Efforts: Thanks to your previous generosity, we have raised more than $20,000 in donations to support relief efforts in India, Haiti, and other countries deeply impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and other disasters. Through this funding, Montefiore and the Afya Foundation have been able to deliver pallets of PPE and other equipment to local hospitals, provide expert consultation to medical teams, and more. Donations to our expansive Global Response Fund will continue direct efforts like these for countries in need.
